This month as the weather cools a bit in Sydney I decided to look back on some of my previous work to showcase it on the site. Both of the articles on the welcome page of the site here were written in bursts of inspiration. One poem "Optimistic Pessimism" looks at the ups and downs, highs and lows of the world. While "Generic Love Poem #08" is a flight of fancy with an adventurous romanticism that I wanted to maintain a feel of innocence to.

Left out right.

Starting again in simple shades
After the colours slowly fade
Learning first steps lost before

Upon a once romantic shore
Tricks of light and happy sounds
Entrancing patterns on the ground

When I was unwell you fed me and clothed me. When I was in hospital you came and visited me. When I was in pain you placed a hand upon my shoulder. I will always remember that if I get a chance to grow much older.

Amnesty International today called on the government of Zimbabwe to end harassment and intimidation of a union activist who is in hiding after police raided a union office in Harare on Wednesday.
